You're gonna hear me roar!

Soooo..... these last few weeks didn't go exactly as planned.  I started job #2 and have been worked to the bone preparing and recovering from vacation.  Don't you think that's a little screwy?  You work SO hard to go on vacation and then have to work even harder when you get back to catch up on what you missed... makes me wonder what the point of "vacation" is?  I mean, either way you're gonna get grey hair!

Due to the hectic week, you're getting a smorgasbord of topics and answers.  Variety is always good, right?

Tuesday, September 24: Review a book, place, or product.

I decided to shake this topic up a bit and review an artist!  I want to review Ms. Katy Perry to be exact!  She is crazy inspirational to me and I love her energy!

After watching her movie- yes, I did that- I saw her as a person, not just some gum drop covered goddess adding sick beats to my Candyland playlist.  You should seriously take a beat and watch.  Not only do you get to go to about 5 concerts- for free like Amazon Prime, but you get to see the inner workings of a lyrical genius.  She has been through more trials and tribulations than B.Spears and has handled it with nothing but style and grace.  Isn't it funny that you don't realize how many stars DON'T go crazy?  Well, she is dating John Meyer sooo...  Mistakes an all Ms. Perry is a fighter and while I don't always love every song, most of them make me want to roar!

Wednesday, September 25: Write about a time you screwed up - a mistake you made.

If I write about a time I've screwed up, we'll be here for a while picking just one.  I am a flawed human.  I am a constant work in progress with ever changing parts.  Every new experience, person I meet and year that goes by, I change.

Like I said, here, I'm working on being a better friend.  With the life that I chose and the lifestyle that comes along with it I am pretty much a permanent nomad.  That being said, I don't want to completely lose the people who are important to me back home or the friendships I have made in my "other homes".  There's a saying that "Home is where the Coast Guard sends us" and seriously, nothing could be more true.
Sorry would be nice to hear occasionally;)

I have screwed up many times in the friend department.  I have held on too long, not held on enough and completely smothered people trying to keep the friendship alive.  Like I said, I'm only human but those are mistakes I've made.  I work everyday to be a better person and will continue to work on it.

What are some mistakes you've made?  How did you overcome them and/or make it right?  Do you think a game of magical Candyland would do the trick?

Until next time...

Recipes were made to be broken!

In the spirit of trying to grow my little baby blog I'm going to participate in Blogtember!  This fun little prompt/challenge is hosted by Jenni @ Story of My Life.  I had a lot of fun doing her last link up so I thought, what the heck!

Today's prompt reads: Pass on some useful advice or information you learned and always remembered.  I'm going a little outside the box here!

Well said, Julia!
I believe that recipes were meant to be broken!  If you always follow the rules then you'll miss out on the passion and creativity just waiting to come out!  I have a passion for cooking and a lot of great information to pass on!  Stick with me kid and you'll never go wrong!

1.  I cannot stress this enough... I've learned that it is SO important to salt things!  Have you ever tasted something and thought, hmmm this is SO good but I need a little salt?  Fail.  No... epic FAIL.  Taste buds are always subjective but 99% of the time, a little salt can make something perfect!

2.  No, I'm not going to tell you to always drink wine while cooking- but it can't hurt!  That is, unless you're really drunk and can't taste things and end up burning down the house-oops?  Try different things and don't be scared!  Wine, balsamic vinegar, cooking sherry and scented oils are great additions that can really give you cooking a little kick!

3.  Oh so true.  If you don't enjoy it, it's going to taste like that.  If you have a passion and love for it, it will taste so much better.  Do you remember Mom's special ingredient that made everything taste so good?  It's salt LOVE!

Those are a couple of tips to get you going on your path of fearless abandon in your kitchen.  Break the rules and experiment with your passion for cooking!  Who knows, maybe it'll create another kind of spice in your life?  *meow*

Until next time...
